Writeup: An amazingly talented and funny actress,
Jean was a veteran of three canceled television shows before
landing the role of Charlene on the top rated sitcom Designing
Women. The show had a successful five year run, and Jean was
one of it's strong points. After the show's cancellation Jean
went back to work in a series of mostly forgettable TV movies,
making something of a career out of it in the early 90s. In
the late 90s she seemingly graduated from TV movie hell and
moved up to supporting roles in studio films (Snow Day, The
Kid, The Odd Couple II, Bringing Down The House), using her
unique talent and sense of humor to raise the quality of each
film she's been in. Although she suffered another canceled
television show with 2002's The In Law on NBC, Jean continues
to work and will probably pop up on another series in the
near future (how about a Designing Women redux?). |
