Writeup: It's surprising to look at Jane's filmography
and learn that she's been acting since the 1982 TV movie For
Lovers Only. She landed a role on the long running series
The Paper Chase in 1983, performing as Connie Lehman for one
year. After that followed a number of mostly forgettable TV
movies and feature films, including Falling In Love (1984),
The Heavenly Kid (1985), Vice Versa (1988), and D.O.A. (1988).
Before she landed on Malcom In The Middle and became a big
star, Jane had parts on five television shows, including the
above mentioned Paper Chase. Her most recent was on Cybill,
where she played Holly for one year (1996). But it wasn't
until Malcolm that everyone recognized what a true talent
Jane was. Her portrayal of the overworked and short tempered
mother Lois is brilliant, and it's already earned her 4 Emmy
nominations (as of 2003). I'd look for more nominations to
follow. |
