Writeup: Chosen by Empire Magazine as one of the 100
sexiest stars in history (#51) Honor Blackman had a quite
a heyday, ranking as one of Hollywood's sexiest babes in her
time. She made her feature film debut in 1946 in Fame Is The
Spur, beginning what would be a long and sometimes rewarding
career. In the next two decades she would appear in a countless
number of feature films, including Daughter of Darkness (1948),
Diamond City (1949), Green Grow the Rushes (1951), The Rainbow
Jacket (1954), The Glass Tomb (1955), Suspended Alibi (1956),
You Pay Your Money (1957), The Square Peg (1958), and Jason
and the Argonauts (1963). She was also a wonderful TV actress,
appearing on the shows The Four Just Men (1959) and Probation
Officer (1959) before landing one of the biggest roles of
her career as Dr. Cathy Gale on The Avengers, a hugely popular
60s series. This led to the movie role that she'll always
be remembered for, Pussy Galore in the James Bond film Goldfinger.
She was impressively foxy in the film, even though she was
nearly 40, and she will most certainly always be remembered
for this film if nothing else. She appeared in a number of
feature films after the film, continuing to work into the
new millenium. |
