Writeup: Holland Taylor began working as an actress
in the 70s, working mostly in television (she had featured
parts on TV shows Somerset, Beacon Hill, and The Edge Of The
Night before the decade was out). However, it was in 1980
that she landed the breakout role that would launch a long
and fruitful career. She was cast as Ruth Dunbar on the Tom
Hanks series Bosom Buddies. It was a short lived show, but
she came away a hot commodity and landed a number of plum
roles. Her feature film credits include Romancing The Stone
(1984), The Jewel Of The Nile (1985), Alice (1990), To Die
For (1995), One Fine Day (1996), George Of The Jungle (1997),
Keeping The Faith (2000), and the Legally Blonde series. Holland
is probably better known for her myriad of television roles,
including the shows All My Children, Me And Mom, Harry, Going
Places, The Powers That Be, Saved By The Bell: The College
Years, The Naked Truth, and The Practice. She was awarded
an Emmy in 1999 for her role on The Practice. |
