| The
Writeup: Heather Juergensen was raised in the Brooklyn
New York and attended Stuyvesant High School. After graduating
she began to work on her career, writing and performing on
the stage in New York and Los Angeles. While studying at a
workshop sponsored by New York's Ensemble Studio Theater,
she and Jennifer Westfeldt met and discovered that their material
was similar. The began to collaborate and wrote a series of
scenes that were produced off Broadway under the name Lipschtick.
One of the scenes was a big hit and prompted them to develop
it into a film about two straight women who decide to give
a lesbian relationship a try and end up falling in love, if
briefly. The script was purchased by a studio but never developed
as they hoped. However, they decided to develop it themselves
and put together the financing independently. The resulting
film was Kissing Jessica Stein, and the success of the film
resulted in two budding careers for both Heather and her writing
partner. Heather has subsequently appeared in the feature
film Red Roses and Petrol (2003) and will most likely continue
to act in feature films. |
