| The
Writeup: A lovely and talented British actress, Gina
McKee had her first major role on the series An Actor's Life
for Me (1985). She would subsequently appear on two shows
in the next two years, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet (1986) and The
Lenny Henry Show (1987), although she was never on a show
for longer than one year. She has a great deal of TV experience
in addition to those shows, including the mini series's Our
Friends in the North (1996, for which she earned a BAFTA TV
Award nomination for Best Actress), Dice (2001), The Forsyte
Saga (2002), and The Forsyte Saga: To Let (2003). She has
also appeared in the TV movies Treasure Seekers (1996), Beyond
Fear (1997), and Beyond Fear (1997), among others. She has
done the most work in feature films however, appearing in
more than 15 over her career. She most often appears in British
films, but there has been the occasional appearance in a Hollywood
picture. Notable titles include The Lair of the White Worm
(1988, her feature film debut), Naked (1993), Element of Doubt
(1996), Croupier (1998, a lovely indie), Wonderland (1999),
Notting Hill (1999, an absolutely hilarious romantic comedy,
one of the best), The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc
(1999), The Zookeeper (2001) and Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya
Sisterhood (2002). |
