Writeup: Geraldine Somerville is a pretty British
actress who has a terrific resume of feature film and TV parts.
A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1989,
her big break came in the form of a guest starring spot on
the TV show Casualty in 1990. The next year she made her feature
film debut in Close My Eyes (1991) and it's been steady work
since then. One of her most popular roles came in 1993 in
the form on the TV seriers Cracker. She played DS Jane Penhaligon
from 1993 to the shows end in 1995. She was nominated for
a BAFTA award in 1995 for her performance. Her feature film
resume includes a number of British projects, including Haunted
(1995), True Blue (1996), Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's
Stone (2001 - I swear every British actor of any fame is in
these movies), Robert Altman's acclaimed Gosford Park (2001),
and Re-inventing Eddie (2002). She has also appeared on a
number of TV movies, including The Deep Blue Sea (1994) and
The Safe House (2002). Her 1999 mini series Aristocrats (1999)
was also quite fabulous. |
