Writeup: Genie Francis is a soap opera actress almost
exclusively, having appeared on four popular soaps during
her career. Most notable among these is her role as Laura
on General Hopsital, a part she began in 1976, when she was
only 14. She has played the role for three separate stints,
from 1976-1981, 1983-1985, and 1993-2002. The 1981 wedding
of Laura to Luke Spencer remains one of the most watched daytime
television events in history. It was so popular it even generated
a Newsweek magazine cover story. Genie has also appeared on
the soaps Days Of Our Lives (1987-1989), All My Children (1990-1992)
and Loving (1991). In addition to her series work she appeared
as Brett Main Hazard in the hugely popular North & South
mini series, which had two sequels, both of which Genie appeared
