| The
Writeup: Born in London in 1942, Gemma Jones is a
lovely and talented British actress known for her portrayals
of Victorian era women. She has played parts from this era
in feature films, TV movies, and the occasional mini series.
Her notable feature film work includes Very Like a Whale (1981),
Paperhouse (1988), Paperhouse (1988), Wilde (1997), Wilde
(1997), Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) and Harry Potter and
the Chamber of Secrets (2002). She has also appeared in a
number of British mini series's, including The Duchess of
Duke Street II (1979), Devices and Desires (1991), The Phoenix
and the Carpet (1997), and Trial & Retribution VII (2003).
Thanks to her role in Bridget Jones's Diary she has seen something
of a career boost, becoming a desired character actress in
big budget flicks like Harry Potter and Shanghai Knights.
I expect we'll see much more of Gemma in roles like these,
along with more costume dramas. |
