Writeup: Gates began her career in the feature film
The Muppets Take Manhattan and followed that up with a role
in 1985's When Nature Calls. Howver, it wasn't until 1987
that she hit the big time. It was that year that she was cast
as Dr. Beverly Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation,
a show she would be with until it completed it's run in 1994.
She has also appeared in four Star Trek movies as Dr. Crusher,
and lent her name to three video games based on the The Next
Generation franchise. Soon after TNG went off the air Gates
was cast in the series Marker, a show that ran on an early
iteration of UPN, but the show never made it past season one.
She has since appeared in the TV movie Crowned And Dangerous
and had a short story arc on All My Children. |
