Writeup: The first of the Gabor's to emigrate from
Hungary, Eva also had the most distinguished career, although
that's not saying a great deal considering the competition.
Throughout the 40s and 50s she was a film actress, appearing
in nearly 20 films, including Pacific Blackout (1941), A Royal
Scandal (1945), The Wife of Monte Cristo (1946), Abigail,
Dear Heart (1949), Love Island (1952), Captain Kidd and the
Slave Girl (1954), The Last Time I Saw Paris (1954), My Man
Godfrey (1957), Gigi (1958), It Started with a Kiss (1959)
and A New Kind of Love (1963). However, she is, and always
will be, best known for her role as the city bred socialite
who moves to the country on Green Acres. Running from 1965-1971,
the show was a big time hit and made a big time star out of
Eva. After Green Acres she didn't really do much, appearing
on the occasional gameshow and unsuccesful show. Like her
sister, she has been oft married, getting hitched and divorced
a total of five times. |
