The
Writeup: Born to English actor Robert Lloyd Pack in
London in 1970, Emily Lloyd took to the stage as a teen and
was soon determined to pursue acting as serious career. Originally
turned down for the role of Lynda in David Leland's Wish You
Were Here, she perservered and was eventually awarded the
part of the shamelessly sexual teenager. It was a searing,
talented debut and announced her as a major talent. Sadly,
she has failed to deliver on the potential her debut showed.
After her debut she dropped her English accent for two American
films, Cookie (1989) and In Country (1989), both of which
failed to connect with audiences. She returned to Britain
for Chicago Joe and the Showgirl (1990) and her next American
film came in the Robert Redford directed A River Runs Through
It (1992). Upon returning from a trip to India Emily developed
a severe case of obsessive compulsive disorder, a disease
that would make doing more films difficult, although she persevered.
She has never achieved the fame many thought she would, but
she has subsequently appeared in Under the Hula Moon (1995),
When Saturday Comes (1996), Dead Girl (1996), Welcome to Sarajevo
(1997), Boogie Boy (1997) and The Honeytrap (2002). |
