The Writeup: An accomplished actress who has racked up six Oscar nominations (and one win in 1975 for Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore), most recently in 2001 for Requiem For A Dream, Ellen has had a long and distinguished film career beginning in the sixties and spanning to the new millenium, where she's working more than she ever has. The Exorcist, in 1973, was her big break through role, and from there flowed a river of quality movies and even better acting performances. Ellen is a special talent as she has exhibited many times over. Her performance in Requiem For A Dream was a renaissance for her career and now she's is a go to actress for older parts.
