Writeup: Born in Ireland in 1980, this talented young
actress is impressing critics and movie goers alike as she
builds a wonderful resume. She made her feature film debut
in The Sun, the Moon and the Stars (1996) but it wasn't until
three years later that she would knock the socks off the movie
going public. In 1999 she appeared as Felicia in the lovely
film Felicia's Journey. Not a big hit in the US, it was beloved
around the world, and Elaine received a Genie Award (Canadian
Oscar) nomination for Best Actress and a Golden Satellite
nomination for the same thing. She has since appeared in the
wildly successful Nicole Kidman film The Others (2001), the
acclaimed indie Disco Pigs (2001) and The Bay of Love and
Sorrows (2002). She has also appeared in two TV movies, The
Lost World (2001) and Watermelon (2003). |
