Writeup: Dyan Cannon began her acting career in the
early 60s, appearing in The Rise And Fall Of Legs Diamond
in 1960. In 1961 she met the legendary Cary Grant and put
her career aside while she put all her efforts into the relationship.
They were married in 1965, but, like so many Hollywood marriages,
the union didn't last and they were divorced after only a
couple of years. Dyan returned to starring roles in 1969 playing
the role of the wife in Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice,
a role for which she earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar
nomination (it also catapulted her to stardom). She was star
in the 70s, starring in a number of successful vehicles, including
The Love Machine, Such Good Friends, The Burglars, The Virginia
Hill Story and The Revenge Of The Pink Panther. As the 80s
rolled around, Dyan's career in feature films winded down
and she appeared more and more in made for TV movies and low
rent feature films. The late 90s saw a bit of a Dyan Cannon
renaissance when she was cast on Ally McBeal as a judge and
love interest of one of the leads. She also appeared as one
of the leads on the short lived NBC series Three Sisters. |
