Writeup: A lovely Southern Belle, Donna Douglas moved
to New York in her twenties and quickly found herself landing
impressive acting gigs, mostly guest starring roles on TV
shows, including a role on the famous Eye Of The Beholder
episode of The Twilight Zone (she is a beautiful human on
a planet of pigs, all of whom consider her ugly because she
looks like a human). She guest starred on more than 15 shows
in the period of a few years before landing the role of her
career as Elly May Clampett on The Beverly Hillbillies. The
show was a monster hit for CBS and ran from 1962-1971. The
only work she has done subsequently is an occasional guest
starring role on various TV shows and a 1981 TV movie entitled
The Return of the Beverly Hillbillies (1981). However, don't
shed a tear for Donna, she worked longer than most actresses
do and achieved a great deal more fame than most actresses
can dream of. |
