Writeup: A talented actress of both stage and screen,
Dinah has been peforming for more than 25 years. Her first
big time role was as Marty Maraschino in Grease, the highest
grossing musical of all time. In 1980 she won a Tony award
for her performance in Neil Simon's I Ought To Be In Pictures,
a role she reprised in the film adaptation. Other feature
films on her resume include Ordinary People (1980), Backfire
(1987), Child's Play (1988), Bloodhounds of Broadway (1989)
and Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael (1990). She is more well
known to the American public as a TV actress however. First
appearing on the show Soap from 1978-79, Dinah experienced
her biggest success on the show Empty Nest, itself a spinoff
of the hit show The Golden Girls. She played Carol Weston
from 1988-1995, even directing and writing a few episodes.
She has also starred on the show State Of Grace and directed
episodes of a number of shows. |
