Writeup: Didi Conn made her Hollywood debut in the
1973 TV movie Genesis II, but it wasn't until the 1978 film
Grease that the world found out who she was. She played Frenchy,
and the film was such a huge hit that it remains the highest
grossing musical ever. It grossed $187 million in the US,
with a reported budget of only $6 million, making it incredibly
profitable. In addition, the soundtrack sold some serious
copies. She has not appeared in much else since then unfortunately.
Her feature films since then include Almost Summer (1978),
Grease 2 (1982), Thomas And The Magic Railroad (2000), Shooting
Vergetarians (2000) and Frida (2002). She has also appeared
on a number of short lived TV shows and has done her fair
share of TV movies. |
