| The
Writeup: An experienced stage actress, Diane Venora
made her Hollywood debut in the 1980 TV movie Getting There.
She worked sparingly in the 80s, appearing in a few notable
feature films (The Cotton Club, F/X, Ironweed) and the mini
series A.D. It was in the mid 90s that Diane really hit her
stride, appearing in a number of big time feature films. It
all started in 1994 when she was cast on Chicago Hope as Dr.
Geri Infante, a role she played for one year. After that role,
an endless flow of feature films began, including Heat (1995),
The Substitute (1996), Surviving Picasso (1996), Romeo + Juliet
(1996), The Jackal (1997), True Crime (1999), The 13th Warrior
(1999), and The Insider (2000). Another bit of trivia worth
noting: Diane has twice appeared in movie versions of Hamlet.
First in 1990 (Kevin Kline's version), playing Ophelia. Then,
in 2000 (Ethan Hawke's version), playing Gertrude. |
