Writeup: Diana Rigg starred as the sleek, sexy Emma
Peel in the 1960s series The Avengers, a wildly popular weekly
show. She was devilishly curvy and attractive in the role,
and she achieved international fame during her two seasons
on the show (I think all the leather may have had something
to do with it). Diana is in fact a Shakespearean trained actress
(you might not have guessed if you had only seen her on the
Avengers), who has a fairly impressive resume of films to
go with her TV show. She was cast as a Bond girl in George
Lazenby's only turn as James Bond, On Her Majesty's Secret
Service. She delivered quality performances in 70s films like
Julius Caesar, The Hospital, and Theatre Of Blood. In the
80s and 90s she stuck mostly to telepics, and it's likely
her acting skills remain underappreciated. |
