Writeup: Dawn Wells began her career on TV, guest
starring on oodles of shows, including 77 Sunset Strip, Maverick,
Wagon Train, It's A Man's World, 87th Precinct, Surfside 6,
and Bonanza before landing her career making role as Mary
Ann Summers on Gilligan's Island. The popular show ran for
three years and since then Dawn has worked infrequently, doing
guest star parts here and there, along with a few feature
films and TV movies. From 1974-1980 Dawn worked as an assistant
on the game show High Rollers. I think assistant refers to
a Vanna White type of gal, looking pretty and turning cards,
stuff like that. She has also appeared on her own series,
Dawn Wells: Reel Adventures, but it was fairly short lived.
The feature films are not all that notable, but include The
New Interns (1964), Winterhawk (1975), Return to Boggy Creek
(1977), Lover's Knot (1996) and Cyber Meltdown (2004). However,
she remains famous for the character of Mary Ann and could
probably always build a career on that. |
