Writeup: Since beginning her career on the TV show
adaptation of the hit movie Fast Times At Ridgemont Hight,
Courtney has rarely remained unemployed for more than year
at a time. She starred on LA Law for one year (1990) and was
cast on Melrose Place, her starmaking role, in 1992. After
she left the show in 1997, she was cast in Fox's huge hit
Ally McBeal and enjoyed a successful four year run on the
show before leaving (she also has a knack for leaving a show
before it becomes unpopular). A year later she was cast on
the family sitcom According To Jim, one of ABC's most popular
sitcoms, and remains a popular, well paid actress to this
