Writeup: Claudia Gerini is a lovely Italian actress
who has spent the most of her career in Italian cinema, earning
a legion of adoring fans with her quality performances and
popular films. She debuted in Ciao ma' (1988) and has starred
in more than 25 films since then. Some of her Italian hits
include Favola crudele (1992), L'Anno prossimo vado a letto
alle dieci (1995), I'm Crazy About Iris Blond (1996), Lucignolo
(1999), Deceit (1999), Francesca and Nunziata (2001, with
Jonathan Pryce), and The Beach of the Greyhounds (2002). In
2003 she appeared in her first (as far as I can tell) American
film, Diane Lane's Under the Tuscan Sun (2003). She had a
small role as one of the Italian citizens Diane gets to know,
but it was a nice way to ease into American films, if that
is indeed her intention. In 2004 she will be appearing in
Mel Gibson's controversial film The Passion Of Christ, which
was filmed in Aramaic, a dead language. |
