Writeup: Christine Lahti is a long working successful
actress, having made her feature film debut in 1979's And
Justice For All, giving a stunningly good performance and
holding her own opposite Al Pacino. In 1981 she was wonderful
as a doctor in Whose Life Is It Anyway? but failed to light
up the box office. In 1984 she connected with critics and
was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in
Swing Shift. Despite this red hot start, Christine never managed
to reach the Hollywood A-List. Other feature films include
Just Between Friends (1986), Stacking (1987), Running on Empty
(1988), Gross Anatomy (1989), The Doctor (1991), Leaving Normal
(1992), and My First Mister (2001). She won an Oscar in 1996
for directing the short film Lieberman In Love. Christine
has also led a long career on television, appearing in more
than 20 made for TV films, plus a four year run on the CBS
series Chicago Hope, for which she was nominated for 4 Emmy's,
winning once. |
