| The
Writeup: Charlotte Coleman was a talented actress
and a veteran of British television and movies, familiar to
American audiences for her appearance in Four Weddings And
A Funeral, playing Scarlett. But to remember her for only
that would be a crime, considering her resume is so well rounded
and impressive. She broke into acting as a child, playing
Sue Peters on the ITV series Worzel Gummidge (1979-81). She
next starred in the series Educating Marmalade (1981), playing
Marmalade Atkins, but it was quite short lived. Roles in TV
movies followed during the 80s, and the end of the decade
brought her feature film debut, Bearskin: An Urban Fairytale
(1989). Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit (1990) brought her
a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress, and she received a BAFTA
nom for Best Supporting Actress for Four Weddings. Other feature
films include The Young Poisoner's Handbook (1995), The Revengers'
Comedies (1998), Twice Upon a Yesterday (1998), Beautiful
People (1999) and Bodywork (1999). In November of 2001 she
passed away due to an Asthma attack. Double Act (2002) was
released posthumously. |
