Writeup: Born in San Diego, California, Charlene attended
Hollywood High School and was in the movies shortly after
graduating, nabbing a small part in 1976's Freaky Friday,
which starred Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris. 1978 brought
the role of her career, that of Lucy Ewing Cooper on Dallas,
one of the most popular prime time soaps ever. She played
the part from 1978-1985 and again from 1988-1990. The role
gave her an everlasting presence as a TV personality and she
has also worked in feature films a bit, with her most notable
roles including Big Wednesday (1978), Border Shootout (1990),
Problem Child 2 (1991), Center of the Web (1992), the silly
Detonator (1998), and a cameo as herself in Dickie Roberts:
Former Child Star (2003). She made a number of appearances
on Battle Of The Network Stars, that great 80s series featuring
TV stars duking it out in silly physical challenges. She's
also been in 8 TV movies, but most of them are fairly average
and not really worth mentioning. |
