| The
Writeup: Celia Weston, a talented supporting player,
landed her first major role as a mid series addition to the
show Alice. She joined in 1981 and was with the show until
it's run ended in 1985. The late 80s and early 90s found her
working sparingly in feature films like Stars and Bars (1988),
Lost Angels (1989) and Little Man Tate (1991). After four
years without doing any work in Hollywood, she returned in
1995 with Dead Man Walking (1995) and has been working feverishly
ever since, appearing in both studio pictures and independent
films, striking a wonderful balance between the two. Her notable
pictures include Flirting with Disaster (1996), Ride with
the Devil (1999, directed by Ang Lee), The Talented Mr. Ripley
(1999, starring Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow), Joe Gould's
Secret (2000), Hanging Up (2000, a dissapointing film starring
Diane Keaton, Meg Ryan and Lisa Kudrow), In the Bedroom (2001,
this powerful drama was Oscar nominated and starred Sissy
Spacek in a wonderful turn), K-PAX (2001, playing a mental
patient), Igby Goes Down (2002), Far from Heaven (2002), How
to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003) and Hulk (2003, another Ang
Lee picture). Celia works more now than she ever did, so be
sure to keep your eyes open and you're sure to find her. |
