Writeup: Carolyn Jones is best known for playing Morticia
Addams on the mid '60s show The Addams Family, but people
who know her only for that are missing out on a talented actress.
She was an Oscar nominated actress, nabbing the nom for her
supporting turn in the 1957 film The Bachelor Party. She made
her feature film debut at age 23 in The Turning Point (1952).
A number of other films followed, including Road To Bali (1953),
House of Wax (1953), The Big Heat (1953), The Saracen Blade
(1954), Desirée (1954), The Seven Year Itch (1955), Invasion
of the Body Snatchers (1956), The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956),
Johnny Trouble (1957), King Creole (1958), and A Hole in the
Head (1959). By the early 60s her movie career was mostly
over, and so came TV, where she would star on The Addams Family,
perform in TV movies and minis, and guest star on a countless
number of shows. |
