Writeup: Carol Kane is an astonishingly accomplished
actress who has been in constant employment since 1970. She
debuted in the film Blood Of The Iron Maiden (not really a
notable film) and delivered quality performances in subsequent
films Carnal Knowledge, The Last Detail and Wedding In White.
In 1975 she was nominated for an Oscar for her performance
as Gitl in Hester Street. This cemented her status as a quality
character actress and her career has remained lively ever
since. Her memorable movie roles include Annie Hall, Valentino,
The Muppet Movie (who doesn't love the Muppets?), When A Stranger
Calls, Jumping Jack Flash, The Princess Bride, Scrooged, and
My Blue Heaven. There are many more, but the list is too long
to mention here. In the early 80s she had a guest starring
appearance on the popular show Taxi as Simka Dahblitz Gravas.
The role was so well received she was invited to join the
cast and remained on the show until it's cancellation in 1983.
She won two Emmy's for the part. She has since become one
of the most reliable character actresses in Hollywood, also
working on a number of TV shows. |
