| The
Writeup: Former model Candy Clark generated some big
time heat at the beginning of her career, but for the most
part failed to live up to the expectations created after her
hot beginning. She debuted in Fat City (1972) but it was her
supporting turn in George Lucas' American Graffiti (1973)
that earned her a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination
and made her a star on the rise. However, she never really
came close to capitalizing on this early success. Subsequent
films include Handle with Care (1977), The Big Sleep (1978),
More American Graffiti (1979), and junk like National Lampoon
Goes to the Movies (1981), Amityville 3-D (1983), The Blob
(1988), Cool as Ice (1991 - which starred white rapper Vanilla
Ice for the love of god). She also appeared as Buffy's Mom
in the original film version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992),
in addition she appeared in Radioland Murders (1994), the
silly slasher Cherry Falls (2000) and The Month of August
(2002). |
