The
Writeup: It's very rare that you see a heavy woman
gain acceptance, and mainstream work, in Hollywood, but
Camryn Manheim has defied that thinking and is a popular
and talented actress on one of TV's most popular legal dramas.
Her first feature film role was in 1990's The Bonfire Of
The Vanities, but it was four years until we saw her on
the big screen again (she guested on Law & Order in
the meantime, playing three different characters in three
different episodes). But 1994 saw her career pick up and
she was never out of work again. It began with The Road
To Wellville (1994), and continued with Cracking Up (1994),
Jeffrey (1995) and Eraser (1996). 1997 was a very good year
though, that was the year Camryn landed the role of Eleanor
Frutt on the David E. Kelley legal drama The Practice. It
was a big hit for ABC right out of the box and she still
plays the part to this day. After the show her feature film
offers increased, and some of her notable films include
Mercury Rising (1998), Happiness (1998), Fool's Gold (1998),
Joe The King (1999), What Planet Are You From (2000), The
Tic Code (2000), and The Laramie Project (2002).
