Writeup: The lady with the interesting name is one
of Hollywood's best character actresses, and I think her resume
attests to that fact. She is particularly adept at playing
the tough cop/mother/doctor/whatever, and it's let to a number
of plum roles over the years. Her feature film debut was in
1979's All That Jazz as Nurse Blake, and she has since appeared
in more than 60 film and television projects. Some of her
more notable feature films include Prizzi's Honor (1985),
Out Of Rosenheim (1988), Postcards From The Edge (1990), Benny
& Joon (1993), Sliver (1993), Demon Knight (1995), Face/Off
(1997), and End Of Days (1999). She also has an impressive
TV resume, beginning with her first series Women In Prison
in 1987 (it was a sitcom). Other roles include Birdland (1994),
a three year role on ER (1994-97), and her current role as
Claudette Wyms on The Shield. |
