Writeup: Britt Ekland is a beautiful blonde who achieved
a certain level of fame as an actress, although she never
broke through to the big time. She began her career in Swedish
cinema, making three films with bit parts. She moved on to
Italy in 1963 and appeared in a number of Italian films in
her career, such as The Devil (1963), The Commandant (1963),
and Machine Gun McCain (1968). Britt met Peter Sellers in
a hotel and they were soon involved in a relationship, one
that eventually produced a daughter. Britt had the good fortune
of appearing in two of Peter's movies right at the time he
was most popular. After The Fox (1966) and The Bobo (1967)
allowed her to raise her profile significantly and led to
bigger and better things. Her most notable feature film roles
include Get Carter (1971), Asylum (1972), The Wicker Man (1973),
Casanova & Co (1977), and King Solomon's Treasure (1977).
Her most well remembered role is probably as Mary Goodnight
in the James Bond film The Man With The Golden Gun. |
