| The
Writeup: Brenda Blethyn made her big time debut at
the age of 34, but didn't really gain notoriety in America
until her 50s. But the truth is, Brenda has become one of
the most respected actresses around, and was awarded an OBE
(Officer Of The British Empire) in 2002. Brenda was born in
England and began her career there with the made for TV movie
Grown-Ups. A version of King Lear (TV) followed, as well as
a part in the mini series Death Of An Expert Witness. She
starred on three TV shows in the 80s, Chance In A Millionn,
Sunday Premiere: Claws, and The Labours Of Erica (where she
played the title character). So Brenda was really a TV star
in Britain before the 80s were out. Her feature films in the
90s and new millenium include Secrets & Lies (1996), Night
Train (1998), Little Voice (1998), Saving Grace (2000 - this
was a hit in America), Yellow Bird (2001), Lovely & Amazing
(2001), Pumpkin (2002), and Sonny (2002). |
