Writeup: A well rounded and accomplished actress,
Bess Armstrong has been working in Hollywood since 1977 when
she starred on the short lived series On Our Own. The next
year brought a guest appearance on The Love Boat and a starring
role in the telepic Getting Married (1978). Since then she
has worked in both feature films and television, starring
on shows, guesting, and appearing in telepics. Many younger
readers may remember her as Patty Chase, Claire Danes' mother
from My So Called Life. She has also starred in the TV shows
All Is Forgiven (1986), Married People (1990), and That Was
Then (2002), none of which made it past the first season before
cancellation. Her feature films include Jekyll & Hyde... Together
Again (1982), Jaws 3-D (1983), Nothing in Common (1986), Second
Sight (1989), Dream Lover (1994), That Darn Cat (1997), Pecker
(1998) and Diamond Men (2000). She also has 17 telepics to
her credit, including The Lakeside Killer (1979), Take Me
Home Again (1994), Stolen Innocence (1995) and Her Best Friend's
