| The
Writeup: Barbara Hershey has been in the movie and
television business since 1966 when she appeared on the television
series The Monroes. She first attracted real attention though
as a wily teenager in 1969's Last Summer. She had a number
of decent roles in the 70s, but there wasn't much that stood
out. It was the 80s that turned out to be Barbara's big decade,
as far as stardom is concerned. She starred in a number of
popular and critically acclaimed films, including The Right
Stuff, The Natural, Hoosiers, Shy People, Beaches, and The
Last Temptation Of Christ (a film which she may have been
responsible for getting made, considering she introduced Martin
Scorcese to the book). She's worked steadily in the 90s and
00s, even nabbing an Oscar nomination in 1996 for The Portait
Of A Lady. |
