Writeup: America Ferrara is an up and coming Mexican
actress who broke through with her role as Ana in the acclaimed
hit movie Real Women Have Curves, about a young Mexican American
woman Ana (played by America), who is dealing with growing
up, her family, and much more. It was a touching story and
became an unexpected hit, making double it's budget in the
US alone, as well as picking up a number of awards. In addition
to her breakthrough role, Ana has also appeared in the TV
movies Gotta Kick It Up! (2002) and Plainsong (2003), plus
a guest appearance on Touched By An Angel in October of 2002.
In 2004 she will appear in How the Garcia Girls Spent Their
Summer (2004), a comedy about three young women experiencing
a sexual revolution. Ana is, let's say big boned, and is defying
Hollywood conventions by forging a successful career for herself,
and I say, you go girl! |
