Writeup: One day, as a bit of a lark, Alison and a
number of her friends went to a mass audition for the Nicole
Kidman movie To Die For, not thinking any of them would get
a part. However, it turns out the casting directors thought
Alison was perfect for the part of Lydia Mertz, the shy, frumpy
outcast, that they cast her in the part and she found herself
with an acting career she hadn't really planned on. Alison
has not found any particular stardom, but she has managed
to stay consistently employed since that first role, in both
big time films and independent pictures. Her resume includes
roles in Before and After (1996), All Over Me (1997), Good
Will Hunting (1997, a small role as an MIT student), Boys
Don't Cry (1999, playing Kate), Pigeonholed (1999), Finding
Forrester (2000, playing a Jeoparty contestant), Things Behind
the Sun (2001), Milwaukee, Minnesota (2003, a well done indie
that was in competition at the Cannes Sidebar), and Stay Until
Tomorrow (2003). |
