| The
Writeup: Alexandra Wentworth is a smart (educated
at Columbia University) and funny actress who began her career
performing in skits on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. This
quickly led to her casting on the hilarious sketch comedy
show In Living Color, which she was on until 1994. Many people
probably remember her from the Soup Nazi episode of Seinfeld,
playing Jerry's girlfriend, the affectionately dubbed schmoopie.
In addition to her television work, which includes the shows
Hardball (1994) and a year on Felicity (the 1999 season),
she has also appeared in the feature films Jerry Maguire (1996),
Life Among the Cannibals (1996), Big Packages (1996), the
dreadful Trial and Error (1997), The Real Blonde (1997), the
classic Mike Judge comedy Office Space (1999), and American
Virgin (2000). After a three year hiatus to incubate her marriage
to ABC political correspondent George Stephanopoulos, Alexandra
returned to TV with a new name, Ali, and a new show, Living
It Up! With Ali and Jack (2003). Sadly, the show is fairly
dreadful (I really like Jack Ford, her cohost, in his Sports
Reporters role) and will probably not live out the season. |
