Writeup: A graduate of Ivy League school Dartmouth,
Aisha Tyler moved to Los Angeles in 1996. Previously she had
guest starred on an episode of Nash Bridges, which films in
San Fransisco, Aisha's hometown. It took a couple of years,
but soon Aisha's career was sizzling. Her first role in Hollywood
was a guest starring spot on The Pretender in 1999. Shortly
thereafter she gained a small role in the feature film Dancing
in September (2000). 2001 would represent her breakthrough
year, bringing her a role as the host of E!'s Talk Soup and
the host of the dating gameshow The 5th Wheel. Let's forget
about The 5th Wheel, cause that's just silly, and concentrate
on Talk Soup. The show was absolutely hilarious and ripped
all the insane, silly talk shows in this country on a nightly
basis. The many hosts of the show have always had to have
quick wits and great comic timing. Aisha was no exception,
delivering her lines to perfection. In 2002 she had a part
in The Santa Clause 2: The Mrs. Clause (2002), which presumably
led to her biggest role yet, as Charlie Wheeler in a multi
episode story arc on Friends. She has been in 9 episodes so
far, making her the longest lasting black character the show
has ever seen. Aisha is a beautiful, talented actress who
I'm certain is on the rise. |
